ATTENTION: New Apprenticeship Classes starts first week of March,
SB Homegrown is an innovative local gardening service and education program, serving the Central Coast from Goleta to Carpinteria. The owner and Chief Gardener of SB Homegrown is Marciano "Rocky" Chan. Rocky has been certified with the Santa Barbara County Green Gardeners' program since 2010. He was recently spotlighted at their website, waterwisesb.org.
Need help maintaining your home organic garden? Rocky will be your expert caregiver and harvester. Interested in improving the harvest in your established garden? Rocky will analyze your garden's characteristics and tell you how to improve your soil, your irrigation, your choice of plants, and more. Want to learn how to grow your own organic produce? The Apprenticeship Program is for you.
Rocky also grows organic food and sells it at local farmers' markets (every Thursday in Carpinteria and Sundays in Goleta), as well as to restaurants, caterers, and grocery stores (eg, Plow to Porch and Tri-County Market). Rocky has recently started selling his own brand of organic vegetable chips at the Farmer's Market, too. Read all about his locally-grown and produced chips at RockysChips.com.
